    Is this about hacking private wifi routers? If it is, it probably shouldn't be discussed here.

    It is probably worthwhile pointing out that in the UK at least, this is illegal and people have been convicted of theft for using completely unsecured wireless access points. If you crack WEP keys as well, this becomes a breach of the Computer Misuse Act as well.

    The two cases I have read about involved someone seeing the hacker at it and reporting them to the Police. The chances are that you would be fairly safe if you were concealed but considering the consequences of being caught, you would probably be better off just paying £15 a month for an HSDPA modem and contract and using that.

    Having said all that, there are situations where you can do this legally. I am an IT Security Consultant and I have been paid by clients to conduct war driving exercises and in situations such as this it is usually a good idea to be discreet. The One is so small it would make an excellent tool for war driving without attracting unwanted attention.
