Hi there, As a newbie to the AA1 and Linux, got a small prob. I have a rescued laptop dvd-rewriter installed in a slim case for external use on my AA1. I know the drive is good, and it shows up using the F12 boot from options. Indeed I mucked up Linpus within a week of buying the AA1 so restored from the cd no-problemo. Now I've got back on an even keel, and both Gnomebaker and K3B don't see the drive at all. Is there something I need to do to 'mount' this drive so it's visible? Using the LSUSB command in terminal I can see the following, which suggests the bios sees the drive:-
    Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
    Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
    Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
    Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 05e3:0702 Genesys Logic, Inc. USB 2.0 IDE Adapter
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 064e:d101 Acer Crystal Eye Webcam
    Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

but why isn't it visible in either a file manager or K3B session? At the moment I have to create ISO images and take them off the AA1 on a USB stick to be burnt on another machine.

Thanks in advance for any advice/comments.

:) Fixed at last by heck. Turned out to be a loose adaptor to optical drive connector in the compact casing. I suppose that would explain why I could see the adaptor mentioned above, but not the drive.
A lesson to all, check and recheck your connections.
