I'm looking for a genaral IP Telephone software. Planning to use Freecall (freecall.com). Please also give me advice how to install and to add it to the menu. New at Linux. I like to call home for free on my vacation trips.

    Thanks in Advance!!

Not sure about Freecall but you can make free calls over the internet using Skype. Install from here and it will add an icon to the menu for you.

I've used Ekiga. You may wish to give it a try.

Thanks for the Ekiga suggestion. Is it working well with Linpus? Is it the netBSD version I am going to use? Do we have a 32 bit or 64 bit processor in this machine? I mean am I suppose to download the 64 or 32 bit version? Is there any special difficulties to install it? I don't know much about Linux even I worked some with Unix in the past:)

Keep it easy. Ekiga 2 is in the repo and it works fine.

To install, press alt-f2 on the desktop. Type 'terminal' and hit enter. installs with one command:

    Code:
    sudo yum install -y ekiga
    reboot.

Press alt-f2, type 'ekiga'. All of the defaults are fine except the camera is V4L2 rather that V4L. All of the other config info you can find on the ekiga website. Happy chatting!
