I'd never run 512 in XP but so far, this thing seems to be cooking pretty well with 512 in linpus. Will i ever want more, or should this do me?

If you stay with Linpus Lite, it should be more than adequate. Putting other distributions on it, I was never sure if it was the memory or slow SSD drive that was the problem, but with Linpus, the machine always seemed pretty responsive.

I agree with scottro. Before I wiped off Linpus I had 512 MB and it was fine. (Now I've upgraded to Fedora 10 beta and 1.5 MB of RAM. My system is slower than it was with Linpus and 512, but I just love me some Fedora Gnome).

But it also depends on how you use your machine. Do you like to have a whole bunch of apps open at once? Do you edit multimedia files or crunch a lot of code? If so you may want more memory. You can view how much memory you're using by opening the system monitor (I believe you'll need the "advanced" menu enabled to access it).

Just press ctrl + alt + delete. :)
You don't need the advanced menu to access it.
