Hi all. My first post here.
I have an Acer Aspire V3 (Model no N15Q6). For the past many years, it has been connected to my TV and the primary source of video (YouTube and downloaded movies). It remains on all the time. A few months ago, I replaced the OEM HDD with an SSD and doubled the RAM.
Yesterday our power went of an the laptop presumably stayed on until the battery died. Today, it would not power up - not a post screen or Acer logo. Cannot get into BIOS.
After charging, I tried again. The moment I hit the power button, the fan spun up to maximum for about 2 seconds then stopped. After 20 seconds, it did it again and this went on and on. The screen was black.
I opened it up and removed the battery and reconnected the power and tried again. Same result except the fan came on only for a blip on power up then remained off. I only use this for surfing the internet and streaming to my TV. It bogs down a little when I try to watch YouTube at anything higher than HD and my TV is a brand new 4k OLED.
Is there anything else I can try before tossing it in the trash and buying a refurbished replacement?
    Thanks
