Today i updated Jaunty UNR, and my Grub was corrupted.
I had a dualboot with Tiny XP...
I used the Live Cd to restore Grub, but i discovered that it couldn't find my harddisk.......
So after a lot of trying i did a fresh reinstall of newly downloaded Jaunty UNR.
    And, no wifi after install.
I did all the google tricks, and reinstalled etc etc.

So I ended up using a backup of Linuxfor One, that does work.

Anyone else experiences trouble with Jaunty after updates???

I have a One with 1,5gb and 8 gb ssd.

The liveCD should of found your HD at /dev/sda. Did you try mounting it after booting from the LiveCD?

Was it these updates? (I use the desktop edition and these are what it wants to update this morning).

    apport
    apport-gtk
    python-apport
    python-problem-apport

These shouldnt cause any problem, These programs generate problem reports/let you view problem reports. Let me know if these were the updates, and exactly what you did, I will try to reproduce it.

    Hello mindhack,
Yes those updates were part of it, in total 29 updates, including those for firefox and security fixes..
I did a fresh reinstall last night, and after the first restart everything worked, but i don't like the unr desktop, so i used the desktopswitcher to classic view.
After the updates, al i get is the background and no panes.
So i am back to google..... :ugeek:

Behind the desktop the thing is working, but i cannot switch to yhe unr desktop, i tried alt+f1.

    Oke, i found out that gnome-panel isn't starting....somehow i think xorg.conf is damaged.
But, i don't have enough experience with Linux to fix this.
I found out that making a starter om the desktop with bash(Application in Terminal) and then start gnome-panel brings back the panel..
    restart and they are gone...

ah wel, nice way to spend a sunday, playing with your One...
Anyone a howto in teletubbie language???
