I have owned my Aspire One A110 for six (6) weeks and completely satisfied with the product. I have not experienced any problems with a “black screen” or resuming from “hibernation”.

The system has been upgraded to 1,5gig ram, the slow SSD replaced with a 20gig zif drive, and the bios flashed to version v3304. Total cost for the upgrades were $68.00. I have installed XP Professional SP3 and Microsoft Office 2000 on the Zif Drive with all other auxiliary programs installed on the SD card. I have an external cd/dvd drive which makes installing software and backing up data very convenient.

As new netbooks emerge each day, I hope Acer will remain committed to a quality product at a price below the $400.00 level. If this can be accomplished, I am sure this will be a strong business segment to the corporation. Time will tell how strong their customer support base will be.

    I love it too...
I don't get any issues even with hibernation either!
This netbook will stay with me till the year of 2030.

I've had mine for a few weeks now (an a150) and I love it. It does everything I need from a mobile computer and more, I couldn't be happier. I may buy a second battery someday, but for now I don't have too much to complain about.

I think mines great. It does everything that I would expect from a laptop and still weighs less than a bag of sugar.

I don't see it as a small laptop - when I look at the full size versions I have to ask why?

Yeah, I love mine too after 6 weeks or so of ownership. It really is great for what I use it for, although full size laptops just seem too big now.

I am waiting for the basic SSD model with 6 cells to become available in the UK. I go out without my credit cards or much cash so that I won't be tempted to get the model with the short battery life, which is available in many stores.

I have played with the 3-cell model in a department store, and was even able to send 2 emails as they had forgotten to log it out after a demo!

The price and the light weight make it ideal for me, I just want to browse the Internet, send and check emails and create a few temporary files.
I already have an ACER Aspire 1644 and this is like its little brother.

I agree that there is no point in expecting it to perform like someone's main desktop PC, and wonder why so many men seem to have an uncontrollable urge to tinker with things. I also can't understand why some people might be ashamed to be seen with it: I can't wait to show mone off, I would be proud to have got so much for so little.

    I'm not ashamed at all.
I hope you are not going to use Windows on the SSD. If so, you may want to opt for the HDD version. If you want an SSD, you can swap with a 2.5" SSD that is faster than the one that is included with the AAO. It will cost you more but you also get at least 4x the size (32GB is the smallest that they normally sell).
