I have installed k3b to use with an external a LG external super multi dvd rewriter.
When I run k3b it displays the following message -

“Mp3 Audio Decoder plugin not found.
K3b could not load or find the Mp3 decoder plugin. This means that you will not be able to create Audio CDs from Mp3 files. Many Linux distributions do not include Mp3 support for legal reasons.
Solution: To enable Mp3 support, please install the MAD Mp3 decoding library as well as the K3b MAD Mp3 decoder plugin (the latter may already be installed but not functional due to the missing libmad). Some distributions allow installation of Mp3 support via an online update tool (i.e. SuSE's YOU).”

Package manager shows the following installed programs -

madplay – 0.15.2b-5.fc8.i386 – MPEG audio decoder and player
libmad – 0.15.1b-8.fc8.i386 – MPEG audio decoder library

So I appear to have what is required but I still get the error.
    Please help,
    David

I'm not at my Aspire now, but with Ubuntu the package one needs is: libk3b2-mp3

Using Pirut, do a search for that and see whether it's available.

    Cheers.

Unfortunately, that library is not available in Linpus Lite.

Is there another way I can install this library through the terminal?

    Regards,

    David
