    Hello,

    Just to let you know.
I've just compiled a new 2.6.27-rc5 kernel (direct from kernel.org) on my debian test system for the AA1.
The ath5k driver in the kernel works with any trouble or extra settings.

I've already download a few hunderd MB's worth of packages with this driver. No problems and high speeds (1400 kilobyte/sec (my adsl max)).

Haven't tried the suspend yet since my debian test system doesn't do suspend yet.

Yes, the kernel's 2.6.27 ath5k drivers work quite well. (However, the sysctl variables that were being used to get LED lights working seem to have been removed, ledpins and softled.)

    I downloaded the kernel from kernel.org (ftp://ftp.eu.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/testing/linux-2.6.27-rc5.tar.bz2)
Put it in /usr/src and untared it (tar -xjf linux-2.6.27-rc5.tar.bz2). This wil create a linux-2.6.27-rc5 directory.
I copied the .config from my debian 2.6.26 kernel (/boot/kernel-2.6.26-1.conf) to /usr/src/linux-2.6.27-rc5/.config
Then I used the debian kernel tools make-kpkg. Don't remember the exact command but something like make-kpkg --initrd --revision=2.6.27-rc5.

Thanks a lot for your help. I've begun to compile a new kernel (some interesting new options like OLPC support, ath5k, pci etc..)
As for the one from petaramesh, I don't know if he used the rc5 build. Will try also.

Then you're probably better of with the package linked a few posts above.
It's a great way to test the new kernel :)

I've noticed that ,with this new kernel, network-manager keeps dropping the connection after a few minutes.
However, this could also be due to some settings I haven't found yet (bare debian install).
With wpa_supplicant wireless works very good.
