Well this would be placed *under* the keyboard for lighting up your keys/mousepad so you have a cool blue glow under your keyboard, not for something to shine light ON it.

Unfortunately (as awesome as it would be) the keys don't have transparent letters, so you'd have blaringly bright key edges and holes and no actual way to see what key you're looking at.
Unless it created enough light to reflect onto the key (at this point it's probably too much light).
It'd be like the "Das Keyboard", actually... except glowing.

Well I am a touch typist, and I can touch type on the AA1 well enough in the light, but in a fair amount of darkness I have issues seeing where to place my hands, so I end up touching them too high, or too low. If I had a backglow on the keyboard I could at least tell what row I am on.

I wonder if they will look like on the aone keys if they supposed to be for a full size keyboard.

I think the OP has a great idea, even if it seems silly. I read a lot about old Xbox mods with interior lighting; maybe one of those kits would work?
On this subject, has anyone had luck removing the keys without damaging them? Maybe we could remove some of the plastic on the underside of the keys (like, with a Dremel) so they would be translucent, thus letting some of the light shine through and illuminating the letter on the keytop.

I just recently ordered a set of Glow In The Dark sticker sets from Funkeyboards.com and in no way shape or form do they glow, reflect or anything. It was just a set of stickers that were blue, to say the least I was very disappointed. (I did contact the co and they did refund my acct less S&H)

    Hi:

I bought the blue stickers to match with my AOA, only to find they did not glow. I went to Compusa and exchanged them for the yellow, and I can see all the keys with only the light from the LCD screen. The other colors except the pink, seemed too dim in the store. A lighted keyboard would be better, but his comes close.

I can post a picture if anybody wants to see the result.

What about a blacklight shining down on the keyboard to test the white letter illumination. My thinkpad has a white LED shining down on the keyboard....
