ok, a few days ago, my netbook went into a coma. it REFUSED to boot up, similar to the problem that requires a BIOS flash. since i did not have a bootable flash drive i could not do this. today i decided to see if my netbook would behave and sudenly i hear a LOUD klaxon sound from it (like when you hold abutton too long) this lasts @ 60 secondsthen it boots normally. (happens every time)

only i now discover a NEW problem. the letter a and the uparrow are unresponsive. tho soeitmes things tend to be stuck in scroll mode till i esc out... but otherwise the keyboard is screwey.

what can i do to fix this? i already tried deleting and reinstalling the driver and that didnt work. :?

EDIT: i found a video on youtube about how to replace an acer keyboard, as well as a keyboard decently priced. so ill give this a try

my keyboard at this point is totally fried. half the keys dont work including most of the letters and all the arrows (its stuck in right scroll mode) and so on. im useing the OSK till i can get a working USB keyboard, and purchase a new keyboard for my netbook. ive had my netbook past the manufacturs warrenty so i cant have acer fix it.

You don't mention if anything happened that might have damaged the keyboard - in fact a lot beeping or noise at boot that goes away is a sign of a keyboard connection problem. I fixed mine after a spill with some electrical contact spray, spraying the affected keys thankfully got enough penetration that it didn't need to be disassembled. Next step would have been to remove the keyboard and try the cable connection, etc. inside. But I knew it was a liquid spill and needed to clean the contacts.

It may be it will simply dry out by itself. Here's another recent session on something similar that just went away by itself:

I personally swear by that pure solvent contact spray - it evaporates out moisture and cleans any goo in there. I also found a PDF that can give you an idea how to remove the keyboard either to clean under it or replace it, if necessary:
