I purchased an AAO 751h about a month ago, with Vista basic installed, and decided immediately to get rid of Vista. I installed windows 7, but was still not happy with the system. I decided that I would foray into Linux, and I played with several distro's, finally deciding on Mandriva (for the GMA500 support) and I have managed to get everything working the way I want, themed and tweaked my AAO to perfection. I hadn't used Linux since 1995 and I used this forum to find about 90% of the information I required to get the results I wanted. I see a ton of people that have solved issues on here, and a some who haven't, but I don't see enough thanks given to the community that makes it possible for someone with zero knowledge of the system, or linux to learn how to get results. Soooo, a hearty thank you to all who have taken the time to help others on these forums, I appreciate your assistance and knowledge. Without resources such as this one, I would probably have never gotten things sorted out as quickly as I have, especially on my 751h which doesn't seem to enjoy many fans.
Heres my finished Mandriva Linux Gnome desktop... :D

Not sure yet, I might customise the outside of it a bit (paint etc) but I haven't really looked at any of the mods people have done. I have a Persistant USB install of Backtrack 4 for those occasions I can't find a hotspot, and I have the three cell battery, so I'll be getting a 6 cell as soon as I get around to it.

Soon as it arrives, I'm gonna look at permanently integrating my USB video capture dongle into my D250. Will be posting it up in the hacks and mods section when I get started.
