You are running Vista or Win7 right ? MPC-HC only supports DXVA, without external codecs, for the chipset used in the AAO A110, A150, and D150 under Vista and Win7 :
"Regarding DXVA1: No, I will not be doing any work with MPC to get DXVA1 coded. The driver requires the EVR renderer, which means DXVA2, and thus Vista. Sorry – I know it’s a bummer for some of you. "

Hello Epedemic, because this works here on my Acer 751, it should be also on yours. Lot´s of people have theses problems with MPC-HC codec and i dont know why :(

Acutally i write with Peter from portablemonkey.com and uploaded a quick guide in the comments here: http://portablemonkey.com/article/ion-p ... d-delayed/

Maybe you like to test that little Tool (DXVA-Checker) we were talking in the comments about?

I´d really like to help you, getting your videos run. It works really well here, especially 1080p with my 24" Samsung FullHD attatched to the little Acer: http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/1504/a ... amsung.jpg

Playing your VC-1 coded videos like WMV is a bit tricky, but will work. You need a VC-1 decoder which comes directly from intel, but is somehow hidden from their site. Here is a upload: File-Upload.net - Intel_Video_Codecs_GMA500.zip maybe it has something to do with your problems? Just try to install the Intel codecs, but its only for Vista/Win7.

If you install it and run that DXVA-Checker Tool http://bluesky23.hp.infoseek.co.jp/dxva ... .0.1.2.zip you will see there is another Codec like in my screenshots. "Intel® Media Codecs VC-1 Decoder for Intel® System Controller Hub"

Download some Samples here: WMV HD Content Showcase

Within the DXVA-Checker Tool look for the button "Check Media Foundation Decoders..." rightclick and choose a WMV file. Rightclick on the red text below the intel codec (NV12 (ModeVC1_VLD)) which should look like my screenshots and choose play, enjoy! http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/3254/gma500vc12.jpg

Okay, this is a good step forward, thank you!

Maybe i have an idea why MPC_HC is crashing. Would you like to go to the MCP site: http://www.xvidvideo.ru/content/view/808/2/

    there is a note:
Did you install this "DIRECTX End-User Runtime" ? I did, maybe it has something to do with your crashes.

If i find a working (freeware) solution beside buying PowerDVD to enjoy hardware accelerated HD-Playback on the GMA500, i promise to write an easy to understand "how-to/guide". I´m sure lots of Sony P, Dell Mini 10,12, Acer 751... (all with GMA500) users would be happy about it. But i need some people to test with me first.

    Greetings,
    Felix

Ah, it turns out i was using a old official version instead of the creepy russian looking one from your link ;) Installing the "russian" one sorted it all out!

    This is wierd.
The person is claiming MPCHC to work on GMA500 where as on the official site http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/DXVASupport.html only.

Unfortunately the MPC-HC decoder only supports the "bitstream mode" at this stage, which means that only the most recent graphic cards are supported :
nVidia series 8(9)xxx for H.264 only
ATI Radeon HD series for H.264 and VC-1 decoding

    I guess this helps

"Motion compensation" mode might be added in the future to increase compatibility with older graphic cards, but I cannot promise anything. Mpeg2 and WMV accelerations are not supported either.

    Thanks
