I have an ASUS Q550L, which I began using in Dec 2022. From when I started using it, the fan worked as it was meant to work. However, the other day it began malfunctioning. Starting from then, the laptop fan would go from 2000 RPM to 4500-5000 RPM after a few minutes of idling. I tried cleaning out any dust and making sure windows was up to date (Windows 7), as well as checking for any viruses. Even after all that, the fan still seems to be blasting in the way it is.

I figure maybe there's a new background process, but there is none. When I put my hand up to the vent, its blowing out cool air. I don't figure it's anything with thermal paste, as I reapplied it back in December.

    Any help is appreciated ^^
