Laptop has audio problems. cracking and buffering

I just bought my laptop Acer AOA-150 a few days ago, but i dunno why when i start a voice conversation on msn messenger or skype the other persons voice keeps on breaking up. while on my other laptop it sounds great with no problems. however listening to music or watching a video sound fine. anybody experience the same? or know of a solution? i just don't wanna return it.
