Laptop screen is black unless the lid is fully open.

    At any other angle the laptop is useless. Sometimes I can get the screen to work if I don't maximize any windows of software that I'm using. I've tried all resolutions and refresh rates, I've reformatted, let the laptop die completely of all battery.

    I'm about to take it into the shop but thought I'd see if I can get any advice last minute. I pretty sure its a data cable either going bad or loose.

    This happened to my friends laptop. Unfortunately she couldn’t find a fix for it. She had to replace the screen. L I hope someone else is able to provide a temporary fix.
