I recently bought my AAO via the Radio Shack-ATT offer. I would like to upgrade to a 6 cell or 9 cell battery, but wonder about the additional weight. I bought the netbook, because I got tired of lugging around my laptop. Could someone - who has upgraded to the larger batteries - comment on the additional weight?

Obviously 9-cell battery is bigger and heavier then 6-cell. In my case it was worth upgrading to 9-cell. There is additional weight but it's a matter of compromise - better battery life or light laptop. Actually I can not say there is NOTICEABLE weight increase - it is heavier but not that much...

    My SIMPLO 5200mAh 6-cell weighs 11.1 oz.
The original 3-cell weighs 6 oz.

The weight difference is noticeable, but not bothersome. Even with the 6-cell, the AA1 still clocks in at only 2 lbs 10 oz.
