I wondered if anyone is using Lazarus or Free Pascal on Linpus for program development?
I am a Linpus newbie, delighted to have escaped from the clutches of Microsoft.
However I am addicted to Delphi (shows my age!) for writing specialist programs, so I wondered if there was any way I could make the jump?
Failing that, what is the easy way into one-off program development under Linpus?

I'm using Free Pascal, but not lazarus. I installed Free Pascal using pirut/yum but lazarus isn't available on the standard linpus/fedora core 8 repositories.

I have used lazarus on the AA1 but I didn't like it on a small screen. I now just use nedit with pascal syntax highlighting.

Unless anyone can help with finding a yum repo for lazarus I think the best way to install is using the official binaries from the lazarus website.

    Good luck

    Rob

    Thanks Rob.
Sorry to bother you, but being a Linpus newbie I don't know what you mean when you say
Can you give me step by step instructions please? (reply off list if you prefer)
And where do I find nedit?
    Thanks!
I did originally post this in the beginners section but no one replied there!
