What is your least favorite or most problematic laptop brand?

Over the years I've had quite a few different laptops. Some of them came to me brand new, some used. I'm currently using a Lenovo that's pretty old and actually works really well.

The worst ones for me have been Dell and HP. For some reason both of these encountered problems with overheating and literally melting and destroying the power cords. The HP, I was replacing a power cord about every month for a while. Both also had problems with the keyboards at different times. It seemed for a while like I had a power cord and keyboard cures going on!

As a result, I would never want another Dell or HP, even though I'm aware that not all of the models have these problems. I'm just biased against them now.

What problems have you had with various brands?

Sorry to hear about that! I only had HPs, and both of them had the overheating problem, but nothing likes yours. My first HP lasted me 7 years, and my second HP lasted 2 years, but nothing wrong with the power cords though.

I've had a lot of good experiences with Dells, especially their newer and business models which have been pretty sturdy for me. HP is a burden to deal with though, I hate how they build their laptops and most of them always have something problematic, it's probably the worst company for laptops.

Acer. Every single consumer level one I've owned is made up of cheap materials that crack through everyday use. One of my had the plastic guard protecting the vents disintegrate within a year. The same computer eventually had the hinge crack.

I've owned a few HP laptops, but they're business level so they're typically well built. My old Elitebook died due to a faulty charger, though. One thing to keep in mind with chargers is that you don't want to bend them a lot.
