I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to dual boot Linpus and Mac OSX?

I've tried, but it seems that there is no way to stop Linpus restore from overwriting the partitions. Has anyone been able to do this?

i had osx/linpus dual booting for a short time, use gparted live to shrink the linpus partition then install osx on the second partition (create said partition in diskutil on mac install or gparted live) then os xs bootloader will see linpus and add a boot menu option for you

    Hello,

I'm looking for advice on how to restore grub or edit the Darwin bootloader (whichever it is that needs doing) to allow Linpus Linux to boot off my internal partition sda1 and OS X to boot off sda2.

I have a 120Gb 512MB AAO150 and have installed OS X on the second partition after shrinking the Linpus partition (with gparted in Puppy). Installing OSX, I followed Rory and Diablo's guides on this website/OS X forum. When I boot, the Darwin bootloader offers two options Linux and OSX_86. But unfortunately I can only get the second to boot. I've tried changing the boot flags in gparted in case that would allow me to boot Linpus, but it doesn't. I am guessing that installing OS X has in some way overwritten important files in the MBR - grub perhaps? But I haven't a backup of the MBR to restore, and being a little ignorant of *precisely* how all this works I am loathe to experiment with reinstalling Grub before asking for help, in case I destroy the last few days work and end up with a system that boots neither Linpus nor OS X. Can anyone help me?

Lastly, (this may be a red herring) I think while I was doing the multiple reboots necessary to finish installing OSX and associated kexts on the Aspire I did manage to boot into Linpus once at least, so I am a little confused as to when exactly Linpus became unbootable. If anyone can help me understand how Linpus should load (grub I presume? from the MBR?) and how to make it co-exist happily with OS X, I'd be very grateful.

    Many thanks in advance.
