Has anyone tried the new version of linpus lite ?
Linpus is a commercial distribution. If you download it from the Linpus website, you'll end up having a LiveCD of the OS, with no facility to install it on a computer. I've run it in a VMPlayer virtual machine to take a look at it. I don't know if it's anything to write home about? Cheers.
I have seen this update on the website. So how do you get the system installed onto the AA1. Many thanks Garry
Burn the ISO onto CD.... boot from the CD using external CD/DVD drive.... you have 2 choices, run the live CD or Install to hardrive. But's it's not worth as almost nothing works. Obviously the Linpus version included with the AAO is a customized version of Linpus Lite. The one on the website needs alot of work to get working with the AAO.
It looks like a much better system that the pre-installed o/s that comes with the AA1. So I understand that I can download the system from the website, burn to CD and install? Have you tried to use this system and why does it not seem to work? I would love to give it a try but not if nothing works on it. What kind of things do you need to do to get it to work? Many thanks Garry
Installation probems I am trying to install Linpus Lite 9.4 by following the instructions below - However, as soon as I type in /sbin/fdisk /dev/hda or /sbin/fdisk /dev/sda I keep getting errors saying unable to open /dev/sda etc....... Who wants to install linpux linux lite on a USB-Pendrive or on a SATA harddisk, has to replace "hda" with "sda" and "hda1" with "sda1".
