So guys got my Aspire One with Linpus.
Want to know the reasons why I should stick to Linpus. Programs and stuff?

I'd suggest reading the longish thread on this subject about 2 down from this one! The best piece of advice I can give is to put your Linpus install into Advanced Mode and try it out that way - so that you can install apps on it - before making any decisions. A lot will depend on who you are, what you use your One for, and what the hardware spec is. My Crunchbang install is great for a professional programmer using a 512/8 machine, but would probably be torture to use for 90% of Netbook users.

    Thanks for the reply.
I have mainly bought it for surfing the net when I can't be bothered using my PC. Also the odd videos here and there. I have bought the 512MB RAM and 120GB HDD version and I'm planning to upgrade my RAM soon too.
I will read the thread that you talk about and will change in to Advanced Mode and try it out for a few days to see how it goes.

Use google to find out how to install the VLC player - it's a special case install, but worth a few minutes hassle.

Think twice about the extra memory. It will void your warranty, shorten battery life, and you probably don't need it. I'm a professional programmer and I'm amazed by how little RAM these machines need - 512MB on a One is actually plenty. If you do get short on RAM, some alternative Linuxes make the One even more efficient.
