linpus stopped detecting sd-card

    my aspire one has stopped reading sd-cards... have tried some different cards. it could read them before. have tried in both slots. think it has something to do with notify-daemon, notify-python, notification daemon etc. i really don't want to go through the hassle of making a clean linpus install. had anyone got any ideas what to do? it worked just fine before, then after a reboot it didn't show up. i have installed vlc and made a few tweaks and had a few errors with the notify-daemon things colliding or whatever... error msgs anyways. i'm new to this and don't really know where to begin my troubleshooting...
