I received a new Lexmark X6690 wireless printer for Christmas. However, I don't seem to be able to find any drivers to make the printer work. Can anyone help.....Please?

I tried to get in touch with Lexmark as I received a 'surprise' present from my Mom this Christmas. The drivers on the 'find printer didn't have the model I need. So. After emailing Lexmark I got this prompt and disappointing reply.

Please accept my heartfelt apologies for the problems you are experiencing
with your Lexmark product. To the best of my knowledge, there are currently
no plans to develop Ubuntu (Linux) drivers to support this model.

So if you get any success please let me know because I'm tearing my hair out trying to find a .ppd file for a Z2390.

Ouch! That hurts. I guess that I am out of luck also as I have a Z715 Lexmark and no driver for it. I cannot even find a driver for Vista. Hummm, does that say anything about the expected life of Vista?
