Hi, I recently found this posted on Lifehacker, and it seems it could be fairly useful for the Aspire One. http://www.linux.com/feature/141231

Unfortunately I'm not all that experienced with linux and netbooks as of yet, any thoughts on how worthwhile this procedure would be to follow?

If you're really concerned about your logfiles, that could be a good way to go. On my EeePC, I just set up /etc/fstab to mount /var/log (and a few other locations) in RAM via tmpfs. The downside compared to what you posted is that logfiles are lost after a reboot, but that's usually not a problem. The advantage is that it's extremely easy to set up.

I couldn't tell you how it affected performance (certainly not adversely), but it works well.
