I know that somebody will say "Why would you want to do this?" but here goes anyway.

Is there a way to get the LiveUpdate repository downloaded and saved so I can do rapid restores and updates over my network rather than against the LU repository.
It takes 2 hours for all the LU to download if I do a full restore from restore CD (ver.1.0.9).

If it is possible please could somebody say how (if it is not as simple as download) and what url to use.
    Thanks

I can't be sure this work, but if you were to download all the .sh files from http://update.linpus.com/ACER/AspireOne/v1.0.9/ you'd have all the live updates available.

You'd then have to store them somewhere on a machine on your network which would run a webserver, and persuade the on line updater to look there instead of to the main Acer site for its updates - either by finding where it keeps its configuration file and changing that, or perhaps by creating a hosts file on your One which points to your own network for that server address.

Then you've got to keep it up to date.

Most of this probably isn't too difficult to set up if you have another Linux machine on your network; a combination of wget, a webserver, a hosts file and a cron job will cover it. There are probably equivalents for wget and cron under Windows as well.

Try running the online-updater file which is already there - so do
    Code:
    cd /var/cache/online-updater
    ./online-updater080904.sh

This should update the online update feature; once it's finished, try running the updater as usual and see if it works.
