    Hi,

    I'm having a problem with the Live Update. I've ran Windows XP on my A110, then Xubuntu Linux, then Fedora 10 and now I gone back to Linpus Linux. I've created a backup USB (first it displayed a lot of 9s on boot, and didn't anything. After retrying it only showed up a light blue screen with Acer Aspire One on it and the third time I tried it worked. Strange.)

    But... Live Update doesn't work anymore. Everyhing else works fine, but I don't like the idea that I can't update...

    This is the output of 'sudo onlineupdate':

    Code:
    [user@localhost Documents]$ sudo liveupdate
    sudo: liveupdate: command not found
    [user@localhost Documents]$ sudo onlineupdate
    Open the configure file onlineupdate.conf successfully

    I couldn't find anyone else on this forum who has the same problem.

    "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently"

    Maybe the update servers have moved? Does someone know what this means and how to fix it? Thanks.

    I am having the same problem, and I have always had Linpus installed. I think something is wrong with the Linpus server.

    I am also suffering with the same problem. This is a brnad new install, so I can only assume it is something at their end.

    I'm also having the same issue with same error message, there's a couple of recent threads highlighting the same problem but no potential solutions that I have found. I've tried some of the stuff suggested in previous threads with different liveupdate issues but its not sorted this out.

    Same problem here too - same output in terminal. Been playing with Fedora 10 XFCE for the last couple of weeks but thought I would go back to limpus via my usb image. Debating putting a clean install of limpus on so thought I would check out the update in case there would be problems. Glad I did now - won't put a clean install on until update is sorted.

    Same here.

    Is it just the update site being dodgy today?

    I think i solved this problem. At least for me.
    As the site had seemed to moved i change the adress in the two files online-updater.conf
    and server.list This two files should be located in /etc/online-updater

    online-updater.conf should look like this
    Code:
    #Protocal
    Protocal = http
    #server IP address Or DNS
    IP_address = linpuscdn.040services.net/
    #User name
    Name =
    #Password
    Password =
    #Down update list file path
    Http_path = /cdn/ACER/AspireOne/v1.0.11/
    Ftp_path =
    and server.list like this
    Code:
    linpuscdn.040services.net/
    I hope this will help u.

    Mine is box stock (Linpus ver) and mine will not update either, not sure if I wanna mess with command line stuff though, will just wait to see if they (Acer) will get this straightened out.

    When mine was updating correctly it's still showing that CM 3G update, I finally ran that the other day just so I wouldn't have to look at it in the update box every time I run it so it went on for over 30 mins then errored out, so when the updater is fixed that dumb 3G update will still be there I'm sure..

    one thing to note about this line:
    Http_path = /cdn/ACER/AspireOne/v1.0.11/

    I tried to make that change, but it wouldn't work. Apparently, in the v1.0.11 directory, there is no "en" directory which the script tries to access. To get my update to work, I had to change that line to use "v.1.0.8" since that directory does have the "en" directory. Once I did that, it began to work.

    Hi,

    I was having the exact same error and tried the changes you suggested in online-updater.conf and server.list but now the error that I get is as follows. Can anyone interpret it at all?

    It worked for me also!
    Thanks for posting this. It has solved over a month of boot and wifi issues I've been having.
    Cheers!

    Thanks fremling! It worked perfectly. :D

    As overthis noticed, at the line with the v1.0.**, you only have to change the part before v1.0.** and let the version number the same.

    The updater is faster too :D

    just restored my system from recovery disk and hit the same live update failure

    ... after an initial user error :roll: I've got live update running

    Don't have time to play around with the config right now, but I noticed that macles shows the update site as: http://update.linpus.com/ACER/AspireOne/
    which redirects to:
    http://linpuscdn.040services.net/cdn/ACER/AspireOne/

    so maybe
    IP_address = update.linpus.com/
    &
    Http_path = /ACER/AspireOne/v1.0.11/
    are a better long term fix?

    Many Thanks for this.
    My oldest has just bought an Acer One ( bringing the family total to 3).

    Update kept failing.

    Made the changes suggested.. and now Live Update is working VERY Fast.

    These are the setting I used:

    Code:
    #Protocal
    Protocal = http
    #server IP address Or DNS
    IP_address = linpuscdn.040services.net/
    #User name
    Name =
    #Password
    Password =
    #Down update list file path
    Http_path = /cdn/ACER/AspireOne/v1.0.7/
    Ftp_path =

    Code:
    linpuscdn.040services.net
    Thanks :)

    I get the first part but if i understand correct, I open the files in a new screen, make changes and then save?
    When I do that, I get the same error. How do I navigate to the file in the terminal?

    Thanks
