Live Update on 150L not working

Hi.

I just recieved my Aspire one 150L, and so far Im loving the small size. Being used to 15" laptops this is somewhat of a revelation.

However, Im afraid not all is well. First thing I did was try to login into MSN, which failed. Then I researched online and found that I need to get the updated messenger client via live update, however, when I try to update the thing, it sits for 5 mins telling me that it is "receiving list of updates from server", and then finally it quits saying "Update list download failed. Do you want to retry? Y/N". I have tried lots of times so far, but it always gives the same message.

My internet is working fine and i can see most websites and check emails and all the usual stuff as usual, but I cannot update it.

 

Yep I'm having trouble too, it just sits there saying retreiving data from server...they must be down that's all

Also, anyone else notice the general unresponsiveness of the system?

Linux is supposed to be fast, but sometimes it takes up to 3 seconds to register a right click and open the advanced menu and the system feels slow and sluggish. I only have the 512MB model, which I whould be upgrading soon, however, it shouldnt be this slow.

Hopefully the system speeds up after the upgrades.
