I had to restore my acer to factory, but when I tried to use live update it says downloading update list failed.
    How can this be fixed?

Same her; Good to know I'm not the only one. Is the Acer server down? Nothing I can find on their website to confirm or deny?

I am fed up reloading this Linux Limpus. Has got to be the worst operating system I have ever encountered in 15 years of computing.

The Live update stopped working yesterday as I reinstalled on two occasions. The second time the live updates failed.

Don't know the problem but then this software is one problem after another.

The package handler is the worst i have ever come across. You have to always deselect packages you don't want. It would be better if it ran the other way where you select what you want.

Server re-direct required. Try the Great Macles: http://macles.blogspot.com/2009/01/live ... blems.html

    sudo sed 's/\w*.linpus.com/linpuscdn.040services.net/g' -i /etc/online-updater/*
    sudo sed 's_ /ACER_ /cdn/ACER_' -i /etc/online-updater/*

Successful update from recovery 5 minutes ago.
