    Hi,

I have bought the Aspire One A110 but would like to have a valid Windows XP License.

Anyone want to sell a bundled A150 XP License? I know some people prefer to run Linux on it....

I need XP for a few applications, else I would have been happy with Linpus Lite...

    I'll pay $15 through paypal...

Mail me at dky[you_know_what_should_be_here]sdf-eu.org if interested,

    thanks,

    Daniel

    Moving to windoows section!
Plus, people could just give you their XP license while still running XP. Windows doesnt detect it, itll activate fine.
They can eventually find you out in which case one of you is done for because you have one key between you...
Same end point as getting a kkey off google

azz2811, you are suggesting something illegal or warez which is not accepted on these forums. Please go somewhere else.
As to XP licenses, PC recycling centers can prove useful if you buy an old laptop with XP on it, you could use that Key for example. I used the XP license from an old Gericom laptop that i had lying around, which now runs linux.

Thanks for taking your time to do so.
    :D

Thanks for other suggestions, even if they weren't applicable, I want a clean original license...

Well buy one on ebay then. If you post asking for an XP serial, its pretty obvious that youre going to be directed to a keygen or google for one.
Im moving tit to windows where someone running vista might sell you their xp key.
I reallly don't see why you want a key so bad, you will not be caught. But i guess people think about karma and all that crap

azz2811, when you don't have a key, you BUY one. Using keygens and cracks is ILLEGAL, this forum isn't for that sort of stuff. WGA is there to stop people using copies of XP which they don't own. So, please stop going on about them on this forum.

    Hmmmm just a small point....

BUT all the iso's etc that have been posted in the forums and links to them for xp such as TinyXP/vista(still require a code which is illegaly shared) to the( errr coff coff) copy of the Acer recovery dvds are also very illegal without permission from the original owners such as Miscrosoft and Acer.. SO as a result of the flaming for the person within this post asking for a key then shouldn't the forum delete all copies, links etc to any and all links to illegal images, iso's etc including TinyXP,Recovery dvds etc as all codes are licenced etc to companies already mentioned UNLESS permission has been granted from the owners... And if this has been granted then this permission needs to be displayed within the forums as a sticky post and a downloadable pdf/txt file too... Sorry but if you want to play the game then play it properly and not just when it suits.....

    regards

OEMs use the same cd key for all the recovery media. They just give you a different key on the bottom of the computer. It would be extremely costly for them to use a different key for each install.

The same license will activate and work fine across the board. You just wouldn't have the sticker on the bottom of the laptop (They are perforated, so they don't exactly come off in one piece.)

It is STILL ILLEGAL to share an OEM key with others and to use an OEM key from someone elses machine....Other wise what would be the point of selling copies of XP and Vista with keys???? I for one would support a blanket BAN on all ISO's etc that way the board and it's content is strictly legal. If people wish to aquire iso's and so forth they can by other means etc.....

I didn't say it was legal mate, nor do I condone piracy. I do however, support freedom of information. Thereby informing people of how it all works.

Use Linux if you don't want to purchase the Software.

I bought my aspire with Windows, but I'm also attempting to run Ubuntu 8.10.

I don't think this is necessary, reason for it is because Acer does not give those who PAYED for a copy of XP a physical hard copy. Just some BS partition on the hdd that could accidentally be erased when testing different Distros of Linux (I did it). I believe that we reserve the right to download an ISO of the recovery dvd/iso so we can restore the XP install that we rightfully purchased. Yes it may be used for bad intentions, however, it's not my fault or your fault, or the boards fault.

If you own an XP license (sticker on the bottom of your AAO) you have the right to download and use that ISO IMO.

Just because some people use it illegally, does not mean that I should sit on the phone with tech support and bitch and moan to get a copy of the dvds. It's my valuable time, and I don't have a lot of it. I'm sure others don't either.

I agree. I have used one of the images provided on here and while it would allegedly have been possible to do so without a license, I have purchased a valid copy of Windows XP Pro. Please don't limit the access to theses images just because some people use them incorrectly.

Just get any acer OEM windowsxp/vista/windows 2000.etc
All acer OEM windows OS keys are valid on AAO as OEM windows are locked by bios not the serial number. Essentially, you're getting 2 windows license key for the price of one. 1 OEM key from recovery dvd and 1 retail key. lol yay

I'll would've sold you my key to you, but I don't have paypall...

I agree that you SHOULD have that right, but whether or not you DO have that right is really Microsoft's decision, not yours. I really don't know whether the EULA allows for this, or for on-selling one's license key, used or unused. If I bothered using Windows, I might bother reading the EULA so that I knew what my rights were.

Technically, AFAIK downloading an ISO of XP, even if the key is integrated is OK as long as you have the key on the bottom of the One or you own a copy of XP for the One. I was flaming the other person because he was sugessting those methods for people that never bought a key and don't intend to, if that is the case, then no, they should not download an ISO of XP.

i dont think a blanket ban on all iso's would be neccesery maybe ban certain users from uploading iso's , if thats possible . sometimes its really hard to source certain linux iso's :)
