I renamed ntldr to ntldr_bak when trying EWF. I went ahead with the hack even though ewf-enable.reg (or whatever) didn't merge properly. Now it won't boot because it cannot find ntldr.

Normally I would pull the HDD and set it as slave and go edit the filename, but with the SSD I'm not going to try it.

Any ideas on how to fix this? also does anyone know why ewf-enable didn't work?

You just renamed your ntldr? or you renamed it and placed the replacement ntldr? What flavor of windows are you using? EWF only works on XP Pro and VISTA. Not on XP Home.

Boot using your windows CD, enter recovery console, rename your orignical ntloadr, and you're done. Good luck.
