confirmed working on d150 iPC distro.

just updated normally. then reinstalled the msi graphics package from the 10.5.7 thread somewhere there lol. if you have a voodoo kernel, you'll get a kp and it will keep restarting. use the option 'cpus=1' to complete the update. then just go google the voodoo kernel 9.5.0 and install it and it should work again as normal.

It worked for me as well, but I also lost Quartz Extreme acceleration and resolution went back to 800x600.
I'm running Iatkos V7 and Vooddo kernel 9.7.
This is the way I've done and how I fixed the VGA issue:

    a) Didn't use Software Update, but downloaded the combo update from here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_ ... mbo_Update.
    b) Saved all my kernel extensions, "just in case".
    c) Installed the combo. It took like 15 minutes updating and I got stuck in "2 minutes left" for a long time. It eventually completes fine and prompts you to reboot.
    d) Rebooted with options cpus=1 and -v
    e) It rebooted fine, and rebooted once again automatically.
    f) Once again I used option cpus=1 and -v
    g) It rebooted in graphical mode, 800x600 pixels, and I checked and my voodoo kernel was still there, so it means it didn't place a vanilla kernel instead of voodoo (so probably cpus=1 is not really necessary)
    h) Rebooted from the USB key where I have Iatkos V7. Followed the steps like a normal installation, but under "customize" I unselected ALL items, select only Drivers/VGA/Intel/GMA950. Clicked on "done" and it proceeded the installation of the GMA950 drivers. It eventually completes showing an "Installation Failed" message. That is normal when you just re-install drivers.
    i) Rebooted normally, without any special flags and everything went fine. Screen resolution in 1024x600 and Quart Extreme in "Supported" status again.

Everything seems to be working as normal as before, didn't notice any problem so far.

This is what i did from ideneb 10.5.6:
    1-install iatkos kit 10.5.7
    2-reboot with cpus=1
    3-update via S.U.
    4-reboot with cpus=1
5-reinstall intel graphics kexts, (I did with rori's) then sound (rori's too)
    6-reinstall seatbelt kext
7-download voodoo kernel and install it
8-Problems with usb... easy to solve...: search with finder system.kext, reinstall with kext helper i.e. reboot
    9-repeir permissions: onyx, monolingual, etc...

Now everything is OK again, and I´m on 10.5.8.

    AAO 120, 1024, 8,9"

    kisses

thanks aretx! il go reinstall that kext.

by the way, i forgot to mention, downgrade your seatbelt.kext if you're using the 9.5 voodoo kernel. it might case a kp when mounting the dmg files.

    Hi all,

After updating to the 10.5.8, and reinstalling all drivers everything works well, except I miss the voodoo kernel (my Activity Monitor reports just one CPU, instead of two).

Googling for the Voodoo XNU kernel I found the current version is 9.7.0, so I ask you: Is this version suitable to use on AAO? Is there any installer or the installation have to be manually?

Read: from official xnu-dev, July 2009
    22 July 2009

IMPORTANT: Once again we have to remind the community to respect the licensing terms when making use of the source code that we provide.

It has recently come to our attention that there are versions of the kernel floating around with a version tag Voodoo; Release 1.1;, based on XNU 9.6.0 and has a timestamp of Dec 30, 2008 CET. I would like to remind that the only stable official release of Voodoo kernel right now is tagged Voodoo; Release 1.0; and has a timestamp of Dec 6, 2008 IST. All official Voodoo kernel versions released so far, including alpha and beta versions, are built in the IST timezone.

The licensing terms clearly state that derivative works should use a tag of "Based on Voodoo" to avoid confusion. If you make use of the source code to create and distribute your own kernel, you must adhere to these conditions.

As a final note to end users: we will not support any kernel versions other than the officially released versions. There is no Release 1.1 of Voodoo kernel (yet). If you use a 3rd party kernel based on Voodoo, please do not submit bug reports or emails to us about it -- contact the author or person who distributed this kernel.

Ok, I downloaded the DMG linked above, but this version don´t boot. When pressing return on the partition the screen flashes and comes back to chameleon menu.

I then downloaded the Voodoo 2.0 alpha 3, and it booted, recognizes the Atom processor as a Intel Core Solo, as before, but no HT again. I checked the com.apple.Boot.plist and the cpus=2 parameter is there.

OK try writing "cpus=1" the first reboot after SU, and write "voodoo" the second... ;) ;)

Voodoo kernel 9.7.0 can be downloaded here: http://uploaded.to/file/xtab11
It is not an official Voodoo release, this one of the reasons for this note issued by the real Voodoo/XNU project (http://code.google.com/p/xnu-dev/) and referred by aretx above.
Voodoo kernel 9.7.0 is an unofficial patched version of authentic Voodoo 9.6.0, made by someone in Spain, I think.
It was included in the iAtkos distribution as one of the three kernels available (vanilla, voodoo 9.6 and voodoo 9.7).
I'm using it in my AAO 150 and works very well for me.

mvil: have you tried 9.6.0 and 9.7.0?? if yes, have you feel some noticeable diference? I've seen here in Spain people with kernel panics with 9.7.0, but sometimes I've also experienced it with 9.6.0. :)

And other question please: Spotify, itunes, vlc... and all about sound... works OK when in 800 MHz and the rest of CPU clock sounds flawleshly... internal mic is only a pink noise when in high volume, and nothing at low, but external mic works OK, I remember once in 10.5.5 or 10.5.6, internal mic were working OK with a kext somebody upload here... if you guys remember... please tell me, it wasn't Diablonet's nor Rori... :?:

    cheers :D

    Hi all,

Sorry for the long delay, I have some problems with my ISP yesterday.

Well, I solve the HT problem simply by deleting the DSDT.aml file. Now I'm using the 9.6.0 kernel instead of the 9.7.0 and everything is working well.

Thank you all for the help, again!
