I used an xp machine to make a usb boot. When I plug the usb drive in to the acer it lists files etc but does not boot.
How can I be sure it will boot and reinstall linpus without actually doing that? Still trying to find an easy way to backup my internal SSD drive.

    Hi
This is a link to Macles blogspot and he has a backup/restore system for the SSD. I and many others use it and it works OK.

To boot anything from a USB you will need to change the boot sequence in your BIOS such that the USB is first to boot. The instructions to open BIOS are on the Acer screen when it is booting.

Notice you have read a thread that tells you how to boot from USB and that was yesterday.
