I've installed opera (AA110 Linux, 8Gig) and changed the preferred browser to Opera in Settings-Preferred Applications, but clicking inks in e-mail etc. still opens Firefox. I'm assuming there's a command line needs changing, as I can't find anything in preferences in either Firefox or Opera. Anyone any idea how to make Opera open instead of Firefox?

    thanks

    Keith

    Hi Keith,

Cant really offer a solution :( as Opera is OK here, just opened Settings > Preferred Applications > other and navigated to the Opera executable file and entered it as the preferd web browser, so any clicked Hyperlink in an email now opens in Opera not FF.

Cant wait until V10 is available. :)

That could just be the secret, thanks, I'll try it.

I got a notification that an upgrade was available, there were about 20 options, I didn't know which was the right one so didn't bother

Edit, Didn't make any difference unfortunately, navigated to usr/bin/opera, the entry in the box has the %s that it apparantly needs to enable it to open links, but still no joy

    Oh well

    Hi Keith,

Sorry this did not help, mine was
/usr/bin/opera then I clicked the opera9.64 file to add it.

No worries, Barrie, thanks for the suggestion. My usr/bin/opera line doesn't have the version no, so I have a slightly different setup to yours. I'll try the upgrade and see what happens.

    Cheers

    Re: Make Opera Default, RESOLVED

I installed the 'Browser Bounce' addon for Thunderbird, links now open in Opera.
