Making Aspire 7720G into an audio production lappy

    i have bought my Acer Aspire 7720G about a year ago.
    Here's the link to check out the lappy's spec. The only different thing is that mine is having a 1Gb ram and 160Gb hard drive.

    My only question is will the small firewire outlet/input works with other audio interface such as the Presonus Firestudio or Focusrite Saffire Pro? Im planning to get one of these preamps to record my drumtracks in separate tracks in my DAW.

    Im still using Vista Home premium, if only it is possible for me to downgrade it back to WinXP with all the backup drivers i definitely would.
