Making bootable USB key

I followed the instructions at the "Swap" section of this page: [URL]ttp://macles.blogspot.com/2008/07/reclaiming-disk-space-on-acer-aspire.html[/URL] When I try to boot off of the USB key I get "Error 17" and it won't boot. Any clues?
