    Hi All,

I installed Mandriva 2009 and after reboot I live lost wireless connectivity. I was looking for a Mandriva Wiki for AAO but I can't find it I had it as a bookmark under Linpus but didn't write it down. Has anyone else lost wifi ability after a reboot and share they're method for getting it working again.

    Cheers

I don't think it's a Mandriva-specific issue. It seems to happen with other Linux distros as well (I don't know about Windows). I used to have it happen periodically till I updated the bios. Since then it has only happened once. You can usually fix it by powering down, unplugging it and removing the battery for a few minutes.

How does one update the BIOS as I do not have windows xp on this machine. I get what you mean it happens periodically because i'm using the AAO wirelessly now after around 3 reboots. This is the only distro i've managed to get wifi working besides linpus.

My Mandriva 2009 install NEVER loses wifi connectivity. And I've been on this OS for about 3 months now. No problems whatsoever. Reinstall again from scratch. Install GNOME version, use WIRED connection (wifi will be available later), EXT2 filesystem(for speed on SSD). Good luck.
