having tried the mandriva one gnome 2009 and being completely pissed off,

i am having my fingers crossed that everything works with this one, not necessarily out of the box, just everything working just like the bundled Linpus Lite.

Same here. I'm curious. My Gnome Mandriva has been flawless... everything works, even have compiz fusion on. ;)

Just some minor issues like the lack of wifi led, shorter battery life[maybe this is what bothers me a lot] and some freezing after suspend or when i cold start.

sometimes grub would show up and then when i selected mandriva 2009, it would load [i mean the loading screen would show up] then halts for a long moment and then the acer [bios] splash screen would again pop up meaning it would start again. it does not happen all the time but it's a liitle annoying.

i think i fixed both card readers now but still im having issues with one of my ext2 formatted 16gb sdhc card, maybe it is corrupted or something. my other sdhc cards works now, btw on both card readers. compiz fusion works too without installing fusion icon, and i installed emerald themer as well. actually, Tamrac, it runs flawlessly in my machine especially when it is up and running, no lags and everything is fine. and besides, there's something good with mandriva's gnome that i can't tell why i am drawn to it. all in all, it is really great since everything is in out of the box and no need to install anything- openoffice3, pidgin, evolution(yeah i use it for work), a softphone( i use it when I telecommute) and everything that a full blown distro has, what can I ask for?

maybe i just like something that is more lightweight on my aao, since i am using mandriva one 2009 gnome on my desktop and i am using it now to type this post. i like mandriva [in fact i like it more that fedora 9 to be honest] though i do not like how it runs on the aao. but other than my personal peculiarities, it is really good on the aspire one.

Try KDE 3.x, its fast and stable.
I use it in addition to my default KDE 4.1, because with it, the battery lasts MUCH longer and it is a lot less power-consuming (CPU-wise) than its sucessor.
When the battery is not a concern i use KDE 4 because its pretty stable and i like the plasmoids; GNOME i haven't touched for years.

Hi, I tried to make a bootable pendrive of this mandriva but failed. I followed the same procedure for making a MandrivaOneGnome2009 pendrive i found in this page: http://www.eeextra.com/linux/installing ... e-box.html (Download iso, use UNetbootin, replace some files in the pendrive)

It worked for Gnome but didnt for the XFCE image downloaded following the first post (Maybe the files to replace after using Unetbootin arent the right ones) Help.
