Hi all - first visit to the site, having got my Aspire One at the Weekend

I wondered if there a max capacity for the SD card in the expansion slot - I am running Linpus with 8Gb SSD and 1.5Gb of RAM

I thought I had read somewhere that it was 8Gb max - is this a limit of the hardware or software?

Also does the diffeent class (i.e. read / write speed) of the card make much difference in everyday use?

Many thanks for any help in advance

    Hey Philippo,

I have a 16GB in mine and it works fine, I doubt if the read/write speeed of the expansion chip would affect performance noticably, or even at all.

    Hi philipoo

I have Transcend 16gb SDHC in mine and that is OK. I seem to recall that another poster said 32gb worked in theirs. Not tried a standard SD card but logic says the higher speed card should be faster. For handling data I doubt you would notice much difference.

Thanks for the replies - slightly confusing that the Acer site says 8Gb

Suspect a firmware upgrade has allowed this to increase and the marketing men haven't caught up!

32GB SDHC confirmed. I have one of them and works great. There is couple of old threads about that somewhere...
