Dont know if linux users read the windows software page, ive made on viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5877 this is post about the mediacenter that works on all platfrorms and is really good, hope the admins/mods dont mind me double posting..

Edit: ive been rearding about the 8gb card lmitation, this media center allows samba sharing so u can stream video/music/pictures from an externel source to the mediaplayer.

For my 8GB AA1 I really only watch videos on it when I'm leaving my house (bit of a downwards jump from a projector to the AA1's screen, haha) and when I do that I just open Konqueror and copy things over to the AA1 via SFTP. For music I either do the same or, if I'm doing it at home, I have a DAAP share set up so Amarok can just stream stuff over the network.

That all being said, XBMC is pretty great, I've been running it on my Xbox for years now and it's brilliant :) I'd still be using it all the time if my Xbox could handle higher resolution video, and whenever I have the spare cash I'll probably be building a quiet little computer to install XBMC on, it's a wonderful program/platform.
