    I just installed A-Data 1Gb SO-DIMM 200pin DDR2 667Mhz

Works like a charm! No problems with 667MHz.

Re: RAM. What Works, What Doesn't

Hello from Spain, I've just succeeded in the RAM upgrade.

    BUFFALO D2N533B-1GA 1GB PC2-4200 (533Mhz) working good.

I've tried also a Kingston that refused to work, the model is reported earlier in this discussion

I run Ubuntu 8.04 and it works fine. Some minor problems with the solid disk speeds (and I've got the fast one). Trying to figure out some solution.

Have you turned off the swap file?

    Hello to all
I am using Kingston DDR2 667 Mhz KVR667D2S5/1GB, works fine, 2GB does not work. :-(
I am also using SDHC Transcend 16GB and it works beautifully.

Re: RAM. What Works, What Doesn't

    PNY = avoid

So far, I've tried 4 different sticks of PNY (512-1GB 677 and 533) memory and all 'fail' at some point. The problems aren't obvious and come up in small ways.

when I tried to install Vista, the SSD is unreadable sometimes. A cold boot seems the best way to 'fix' the problem. This same problem does not seem to occur under Linpus with the OS already installed. Once installed, the SSD is sometimes not recognized with the PNY RAM. "Insert bootable disk". Very annoying. This reoccuring problem is fixed by removing the PNY RAM.

Now maybe, I've just got the worst luck in the world with RAM, but 4 diff sticks of PNY (my fav desktop RAM) being 'bad' is a little odd. All 4 sticks bought at different locations BestBuy, NewEgg, Circuit City and some other online place Deal Exreme?

I've also tried a corsair that failed.

I wonder if I have a bad board?

Re: RAM. What Works, What Doesn't

I tried the Kingston KVR533D2S4/1G today and it didn't work.
According to BIOS it was allocated properly (displayed 1536 MB), but it made
the SSD completely unreadable and it even - in some strange way - made everything
disappear from the SSD, even the partition.

I've just installed a Kingston KVR533D2S4/1G and it seems to be working. Both BIOS and Linpus is reporting 1536mb RAM.

Re: RAM. What Works, What Doesn't

I installed a Kingston KVR667D2S5/1G and is work just perfect except for one small problem!
My bios recognize 1536Mb but linpus report 2048Mb installed!(any clues why?)
So i suppose the mobo underclock the memory after all! :D

Re: RAM. What Works, What Doesn't

Disregard my previous post, the KVR533D2S4/1G actually works flawlessly.
The ZIF cable from the SSD just wasn't secured properly in its socket, plugged it all
the way in and now it's running like clockwork :)

    I used a 1gig stick of Kingston ValueRAM PC2-5300 (DDR2 667) I picked up from CircuitCity for $27.99. It's available online and in-store.
