Hi I just got the Aspire one A0722 netbook. Cannot find any info on upgrading the memory in it. I know it has 2 slots (one in use).

It seems its the same only larger than the 522 model and it has a memory upgrade path involving removing the keyboard then some screens and pushing out the back panel from the front of the machine.

Will this void the Acer warranty?

its easier than the 522: (from a review on amazon)

Not sure if it voids the warranty or not. However, it is super easy to access the RAM slot and hard drive. First make sure the power cord is unplugged. On the back side of the laptop there is one screw that needs to be removed. It is located in the very middle on the backside of the netbook (opposite where the trackpad is on the frontside). Unscrew it. Then, remove the battery. To do this, there is a spring loaded tab that you have to slide to release it (opposite where the F1 key is on the front side). The tab is kind of weird, because it has this little pictogram on it that shows you need to use a pen, but you can just use the tip of your finger. Once the battery is out and the screw is out, the whole backside can be slid off by sliding it downward away from the battery area. It will slide down about half-an-inch and should come off freely. Good luck and happy upgrading!

I read somewhere that there is a second RAM slot but supposedly does not work. I used a 4GB chip when I upgraded. I forgot to confirm this is true by swapping the RAM chip to the other. :|

There is some good useful information at Amazon.com regarding the AO722-0473.

It has been verified that an 8GB SO-DIMM will work in this laptop.

    "C. Harsh says:
I took the challenge and purchased and installed "CORSAIR 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 Laptop Memory Model CMSO8GX3M1A1333C9" from new-egg and all 8GB was immediately recognized in the BIOS and Windows 7. "

    C. Harsh even provided screenshots verifying that the memory is indeed being recognized and is working.
