I use mencoder for the command line a lot on my regular computer. It's brilliant if you want to cut out a funny 15 seconds in the middle of a xvid/divx encoded movie and send to a friend. Just takes a couple of seconds.

When I try to install it (mencoder 1.0-0.42.rc2.fc8i386) on my AO, the package manager (pirut?) says "Missing Dependency: mplayer = 1.0 is needed by package mencoder"

I already installed a new version of mPlayer (mplayer-1.0-63_rc2.fc8.i386.rpm, so I could see xvids, works great) using directions from http://aspireonelinux.blogspot.com/2008 ... video.html

When I search for mplayer, I only see the one that I already have, it's marked installed.....?
