messenger application

    i have an AIM account, and my screen name is an email address (!)... the messenger application wont let me type a @ symbol in screen name for an AIM account. dam thing.

    thought if i could just edit the config file for the account... does anybody know where acer messenger keeps its config files?

    Is it system wide or just specifically the messenger? You may just need to change the keyboard layout from UK to EN down in the corner. Otherwise, I think you're looking for /home/user/.purple/accounts.xml

    yeah, that was it. purple- i wouldn't have guessed that. thanks

    yes, just in messenger application for an AIM account it wont allow when adding an account the use of the @ symbol. changing the config file has logged me into AIM and now all me buddies come up :D . now onto the webcam...... ..... ..... :ugeek:
