I used the utility on my desktop machine that had a corrupted boot sector and it worked perfectly, the only thing I had to do was switch boot priorities upon the first reboot installing Windows 7 to let my PC boot from the hard drive instead of the USB stick again, I'm guessing it would would the same in my laptop (AOD150) but I started the Windows 7 install from inside Windows XP on it and it worked fine.

Yep, this little utility from Microsoft worked like a charm. You just point it to your Windows 7 ISO and it does the rest.

It has worked twice now - I installed 7 just desperate to get away from Vista, and then when I saw how truly awesome 7 is, I did a clean install again.

Hi guys, this is my first post, but I will vouch for this little utility. I was a little skeptical at first because Microsoft usually doesn't make things like this very easy, but it worked like a charm. I guess if they make it easier for us netbook users to upgrade to windows 7 it'll make them a little bit more money. Either way, I'm not complaining.

I tried this util with tiny7 rev01 .iso
It told me this is not a valid iso file.
I did not try and rename it to a valid MS Win 7 iso name, maybe worth a shot.

I'd venture a guess that it has more to do with it being an altered ISO.

The ISO I used wasn't a standard MS filename and it worked perfectly. Your problem means that this software probably will only work with a full .iso of Win7 and no other OS.

No, the problem with XP is that it needs to reboot to the CD and then finally to the HD. You have to follow the applications which build a special XP install USB, this utility will not work for XP.

Thanks for the info. No matter since Win7 is so awesome, I have no need to downgrade to XP. :)
