Is the Microsoft mobile 8000 mouse compatible with linux? its a 2.4Ghz (not Bluetooth) wireless USB mouse.

Will it require SW install to work with Linpus?

I have searched and not found any mention of it. I am looking for a wireless mouse with a range of 10 to 12 feet. I would like to be able to select Youtube videos from the sofa whilst the aspire one is on the shelf with the tv 110 to 12 ft away.

    cheers

It doesn't look like anyone has used this mouse yet. SO i have decided to purchase this for $40 from my local store and give it a try. It is 2.4Ghz, has a switch to select BT or non BT at 2.4Ghz. The specs say it has a 20ft range that will be sufficient or my application. I just hope it installs easily as i know absolutely nothing about Linux. I have been trying to install vlc for a month with no luck.

I will post a report on how the mouse works.

    cheers kev
