So, new AA1 meets new 3G modem (UK Vodafone PAYG, fwiw). Mobile partner is already installed, so no worries there, but all I saw when I started it up was a blank screen, plus a few other blank dialogue boxes with no title bars. A blue light flashed on the dongle, which I took to be a good sign.

For some reason, I guessed that the special effects of Compiz-Manager might be causing the problem, and a re-boot following disabling it in the xfce4-autostart-editor (something else I wasn't smart enough to find in Google earlier this week!) cured it - all connected by just putting 'web' as username and pwd in a new profile in M-P.

Very impressed, I have to say.

Now for my question - as a Linux newbie, how can I add this problem to a bug list somewhere - who 'owns' these two packages and who is likely to be best placed to fix it?

    TIA
