Moblin V2 Alpha

    The announcement may be new, but as far as I can tell the image is still the same (from March 11 2009). In that image "Update" doesn't work and (more importantly to SSD owners) there's no ext2 file system option prior to installation. Can't wait to see what alpha 3 has to offer though. This project, as I've said before, looks quite interesting.

    i also tried moblin live version on an usb-stick. moblin is VERY responsive, very fast but as mentioned there are no real apps in the repositories trying to install flash to test youtube (sound and vid) did not work, but i didn't try to install anything else yet. 2B continued as moblin is certainly worthwhile.

    The only thing that glxgears is a benchmark of is OpenGL performance. This will be relevant a few 3D games you might play - like Oolite - and maybe a 3D art package or two. And nothing else. And in fact it's a lousy benchmark even for those!
