I am curious if anyone else has experienced the problem I had with my Aspire One. After two months of working flawlessly, my Aspire One abruptly stopped working in late October. I brought it into Best Buy to have it serviced two weeks later. To my surprise, the technician thought it was a problem with the motherboard and sent the little netbook off to Acer for free MB replacement under warranty. It was returned two weeks later and is working fine once more. My Geek Squad experienced was pleasant, professional and free of BS.

I'm wondering: has anyone else experienced this problem? The tech had not heard of any other AAOs with this problem, and in my searches through different forums, I have not seen any other comments relating to this issue. It makes me wonder that instead of anything systemic, the problem with my netbook was indeed an isolated incident.

In all my years of working with laptops, I've never experienced a MB failure before.

Speaking from experience, "motherboard problem" is synonymous with 'I've no clue, lets sent it RMA to the manufacturer'

Hi. I Also had my motherboard replace recently. I was trying to surf on the net when the One just turned off. I dealt directly with Acer and they had Purolator at my door withing 15mins to pick it up. I was very surprised it was that fast. Anyway I had it back within 2 weeks.

I've just had my motherboard replaced. It was sent for repair on 17th December and I got the machine back today - not bad service, particularly given the Christmas and New Year period.

I had my motherboard replaced by Acer recently too. When I got my computer back about 6 gigs worth of my wife's modelling pictures were deleted! Bastards!...I had no backup. Most were artistic nude. Why would they go thru my computer's hard drive like that? They deleted all her pics and every bit of porn on here. Jerks
