Muting speakers without muting headphones

    Hi, I'd like to know if it's possible to have the speakers on the Aspire One permanently muted, without muting the headphone sound channel. I've tried to do this in Realtek audio manager and the Windows volume panel but the two channels are always linked.

    Hi,

    yes u are right both two channels are linked. at the moment there is a one way to speakers permanently muted is to remove (cut) cables of speakers. if really u need to do this thing :? let the technicians do it. but i never suggest u .

    This is not a software answer but at Radio Shack you can buy an adapter that allows you to use a larger size headphone jack then with it plugged in your speakers will be shut off but when you plug in the headphones into the jack they will work.
